COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
The Family Activities Committee’s goal is to help build a stronger community by working with other organizations on joint community service projects. By assisting others on projects needed in the Community that help others with their comfort whether physical or emotional. Donate your time or make something for another organization (hospital, nursing home, day care center, etc.) that needs the “special something” (adult clothing protectors, games)?
2025 NORTHEAST NEEDLEWORK CONTESTThe 2025 brochure will be mailed out in October 2024 and on the Vermont State Grange website.
The New England Grange Building Trustees have raised the prize money for 2025.

COOKING CONTEST 2024-2025You are to make a cobbler using seasonal fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) as the state contest is judged in July, and these fruits should be relatively available.

The following classes are open to anyone. Non-members will need a Grange Sponsor. Bring your entries to Family Camp 2025 by NOON Saturday, they will be judged after Family Camp.

- Make your recipe using one, two or all three of the fruits.
- Include your recipe!
- Anyone who wishes can enter the State contest by bringing it Saturday (by NOON) to Family Camp in July 2025 or whenever it is announced.
- Send a serving for 4 people.

VT. Needlework & Craft Contest
The following classes are open to anyone. Non-members will need a Grange Sponsor. Bring your entries to Family Camp 2025 by NOON Saturday, they will be judged after Family Camp.
- CLASS Z: -This year, this craft will be a set that includes a hat, mittens and scarf using one of the following techniques: Knit, Crochet, or Weaving. All three items need to be same technique.
- CLASS Y: SEWING – make something that you can add to the place mats that you made last year: coasters, silverware holder, etc. remember to make 4.
- CLASS X: TOY – made with child safe materials. Min. size 5 x 5”, max. size 12 x 14”
- CLASS W: QUILTED –table runner Triangle: max. 30” L by 25 W” Rectangle: max:18” W by 68” L; Circle: min: 14” max: 24” diameter.
- CLASS V: CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT- using a Styrofoam ball, make a fabric pinecone ornament.
- CLASS U: WOODEN BIRDHOUSE – no larger than 12” x 12”, finished.
- CLASS T: POTLUCK DISH CARRIER- sew a carrier for your hot or cold pot luck dish. Anything goes!
- CLASS S: DIAMOND ART CRAFT- go to your craft stores for the materials and craft your best design. Project no larger than 14” x 14” framed.
- CLASS R: WEAVING-another anything goes project. Weave your entry, Max size 24” by 24”.
- CLASS Q: TABLE SCAPE- a table scape is a complete table setting for one person. Using any matching dishes and silverware for your setting. Items required: placemat, cloth napkin, fork, knife, spoon, dinner plate, bread plate, water glass, and a small centerpiece. Optional: wine glass, dessert plate with fork or spoon, soup bowl and spoon, and a butter knife. Bring to Family Camp on Saturday by 10 a.m. and the judging will be after the cooking contest. You will be taking your setting home with you. Photos will also be taken.
